Biofuel is a renewable energy source made available from materials derived from recently living organisms, which includes plants, animals and their byproducts.
The term covers Solid Biomass, liquid fuels and various biogases.

Solid biomass
Besides being the most commonly used renewable energy, the use of solid biomass to generate energy has a long, global tradition. Solid biomass includes all
kinds of dry or dried plant material such as timber, wood pellets, wood bricks, wood chips, stalk material (straw and straw pellets), cocoa-bean shells, cherry
stones, rice husks, etc.

Biogas can be obtained from various sources such as organic waste from landfill sites (landfill gas), municipal wastewater (sewage gas), and industrial/commercial /domestic organic waste as well as from agricultural waste materials and energy crops.
